Secure Flight and Identity Resolution
By Mike Shultz, Infoglide Software CEO
Most of the time we’re just heads down doing our job of providing identity resolution solutions for our customers. But this is one of those weeks at Infoglide when we appreciate the opportunities we’ve had to make a difference.
TSA announced that the Secure Flight Program has begun vetting passengers. Based on a key recommendation of the 9/11 Commission, Secure Flight transfers responsibility for vetting airline passengers against terrorist watch lists from the airlines to the government.
We’re proud of our heritage that includes working with the Secure Flight Program since 2002. The Secure Flight program requires highly-tuned identity resolution and entity analytics technologies to accurately and quickly compare passenger data against the government’s No Fly and Selectee watch lists. Infoglide’s technology was selected for Secure Flight through a wide-reaching proposal process that started with hundreds of companies and included large technology leaders.
We’re a small but leading-edge software company, and some of the companies we competed with have more lobbyists than we have employees. But the government wanted the best technology and technology team available for this very important project and that was us.
Given the critical nature of the program and with requirements for processing millions of transactions per day, Secure Flight is one of the most demanding and advanced applications of identity resolution and entity analytics technology to date. We feel privileged and grateful for the contributions we’ve had an opportunity to make to this important endeavor.
